Haunted I tried to bargain with God

For things I now know I didn’t truly want

In dark I spent my lonesome nights

Broken begging for the only thing I thought would care to be mine

Out of the deep blue, now I see

What I truly wanted was all along here

Waiting for me to one day arrive

With open eyes my unknown, forgotten prayers were answered with time

Through the night the burning embers kept me warm

Till one day I finally found my way home

While I fanned the flames afraid they were all I had left

unscathed I was carried away finally safe to rest
