Soldiers Return

Soldiers will return

And the people will sing in the streets once more

Those who have died will remain so

But it’s a tale forever told

Love will indeed conquer all

Those on top will call for peace

Shake hands and smile with pride and ease

Act as if it wasn’t them

who lit the fire that burned their men

Every year they’ll remember

Plant flowers, raise slogans and chant their anthems

Remind us to never forget

Till one day they use our cause to do it over again

And history, once more, repeats itself

Because never will they learn that love will win it all in the end
